From Canvas to Camera: Meet Ava Daniel a young Caribbean artist and filmmaker

Ava Daniel is a talented young artist and budding filmmaker from the U.S. Virgin Islands. She discusses her journey in the creative arts, her recent achievements, and the lessons she has learned. Competing in the Senator Carla Joseph Black History Month art competition was a pivotal moment for Ava. Her winning piece featured Queen Mary, a historical figure whose story of resilience and rebellion inspires many. Ava’s short film, “The Moonlight Diner,” is a culmination of her learning and an exciting venture into capturing and portraying stories through film.

 

By sharing her journey, Ava encourages others to explore their artistic talents and remain persistent in their pursuits. As her story unfolds, we eagerly anticipate the many contributions she will make in the world of art and beyond.
